What we collect, why we collect it and how you can control it.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
1. Who we are
English Master Academy is an independent online IELTS preparation platform at englishmasteracademy.com. We are not affiliated with IELTS, the British Council, IDP Education or Cambridge University Press & Assessment. You can contact us at englishmasteracademy99@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to run the service:
- Account details: your email address, name (if you give it) and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile Google shares with us.
- Study preferences you choose, such as target band, test type and test date.
- Practice activity: answers, essays, Speaking recordings and transcripts, scores, points, streaks and mock test results.
- Messages you send to the AI tutor.
- Usage information: pages visited, buttons clicked, when you were last active, and basic technical details such as browser type.
- Sign-in security records: failed sign-in attempts are logged with a masked email address. We never store your password in readable form.
- Payment information: payments are handled by our payment provider. We receive your subscription status and payment confirmations, but never your full card number.
3. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account.
- To mark your practice and give AI-estimated band scores and feedback.
- To show your progress, streaks and leaderboard position.
- To manage your plan, usage limits and payments.
- To keep the service safe, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand which pages and features are useful so we can improve them.
4. AI processing
Writing answers, Speaking recordings and AI tutor messages are sent to AI models run by our service providers so they can be marked or answered. They are used to give you feedback, not to sell or advertise to you. AI scores are estimates for practice and are not official IELTS results.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with providers that help us run the service — hosting and database, AI processing, payment processing and email delivery — and only as needed for them to do that work. We may also disclose information if required by law.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in, save exam progress and remember settings. We record page views and button clicks in our own systems to understand how the site is used. We do not use advertising cookies.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your account and practice history while your account is active so you can track your progress. Security and payment records may be kept longer where needed for safety, accounting or legal reasons. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information unless we must keep it by law.
8. Your choices and rights
You can update your profile in your account settings. You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account by emailing englishmasteracademy99@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local data protection law.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls and server-side checks to protect your information. Staff access is limited by role and recorded. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.
10. Children
The service is meant for people aged 16 and over. If you are under the age of consent where you live, please use it only with a parent or guardian's permission.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will change the date at the top of this page, and tell you about important changes by email or on the site.
