General Training is for migration to countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK, and for work or secondary education in an English-speaking country.

How is General Training Writing different?

Task 1 is a letter — formal, semi-formal or informal — instead of a data description. Task 2 is still a 250-word essay but the topics are more everyday.

Is General Training easier than Academic?

The texts and vocabulary are less academic, but the band conversion for Reading is stricter, so you need more correct answers for the same band.
